Great Strength Bodhisattva’s Perfect
Penetration
Truly recognize your own
faults,
And don’t discuss the faults
of others.
Others’ faults are just my
own;
Being of one substance with
all is called
great compassion.
Being mindful of the Buddha to the
point that
one’s mind is uninterrupted,
Reciting “Amitabha” to the point that
one’s mind
meshes with the sound of the
word,
When distracting thoughts no longer
arise,
samadhi is attained;
One can surely expect rebirth in the
Pure Land.
Utterly weary of the afflictions of
the Saha World,
One breaks all attachments to the
mundane
world and
Intently seeks rebirth in Ultimate
Bliss.
Once defiled thinking is set aside,
One returns to pure thought.
When not even a single thought arises,
The entire substance
manifests.
When the six sense faculties suddenly
stir,
one is covered by clouds.
Beautiful flowers should
stay abloom every day and
The moon full night after night!
Let all the springs on this great
earth turn into wine and
Money grow on every tree in all the
forests!
Fish roe, amra flowers, and
Bodhisattvas of initial resolve:
They abound in great number on the
causal ground,
Yet only a handful will reach
fruition.
Water makes no sound streaming along level ground;
Noisily it resonates when encountering
the highs and
lows of the land.
Without uttering a word, the Great Way
pervades the
Dharma Realm;
Out of greed, hatred, and stupidity,
contention arises.
